About our practice
Gold Coast Radiology was established in April 2010, by its managing radiologist Dr Michael Ryan.
Dr Ryan identified a need in this high population growth region of the Gold Coast for an imaging facility that provided a comprehensive range of mixed Medicare bulk-billed and privately billed services. Gold Coast Radiology is a comprehensive mixed billing Diagnostic Imaging facility providing services to the North Western corridor of the Gold Coast.
In 2015, Gold Coast Radiology expanded its service provision by opening up a second location in the very heart of Surfers Paradise at the iconic Circle on Cavill precinct.
Both Gold Coast Radiology sites participate and endorse The Department of Health’s Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme and are regularly audited against the fifteen Practice Accreditation Standards.
Our Goals
Gold Coast Radiology was established to provide a comprehensive diagnostic imaging facility that is patient focussed, patient friendly and patient cost sensitive, with the vast majority of diagnostic imaging studies being bulk billed for Medicare eligible patients. In a nutshell, Gold Coast Radiology strives to provide the most comprehensive, cost effective and patient centric diagnostic imaging service to the Gold Coast and its surrounds.

We understand that like any other medical procedure, there may be a certain degree of uncertainty and trepidation about having a diagnostic imaging procedure.
Procedures are explained initially by the administration team when making the patient appointment, and then formally explained in detail by the technical staff actually performing the procedure. Questions regarding the patient procedure are encouraged, and Gold Coast Radiology staff will endeavour to answer all patient questions prior to proceeding with the procedure, be it an X-Ray or a Magnetic Resonance Scan.
Technically Experienced
All staff are highly trained, and have vast clinical experience in their chosen specialist field. Technical staff that use ionising radiation to perform their duties are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and those that do not use ionising radiation are registered with their relevant national professional bodies. Technical staff members are also involved in continuing professional education programs to maintain their skills, and ensure they are up to date with professional best practice procedures and protocols.
Diagnostically Accurate
Although no one modality is perfect or accurate 100% of the time, the highly qualified and experienced specialist radiologists onsite ensure that the most appropriate and effective diagnostic imaging is provided to every patient attending. This means that you will undergo the most appropriate, and lowest dose radiation procedures, with the results of your diagnostic imaging made available to your referring doctor usually on the same day as your procedure.
