The 24 hour ECG Holter monitor records the electrical signals of the heart continously for 24 hours while the patient continues their daily routine. The continous recordings are then downloaded after the 24 hour period and analysed to assess abnormal cardiac rhythms. An event button on the Holter monitor is pressed by the patients when and if they experience symptoms related to their condition. This allows for the ECG tracings to be closely examined and related back to the time of the recorded events.
